We're so glad you came to this page on our Website!

You may have been just curious about Peter (the little guy who walks out of one door and through another door), what you found is a brief note for those who may have a genuine desire to really understand how to know God. Please take your time in reading the "Good News" outlined below. It is our greatest desire that you will come to know God personally. We hope that in these next few minutes of looking at these truths, your life will be forever changed.

"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

Acts 4:12

There is only one way - His name is Jesus.

Where do I begin?

The first step in getting to know God is to acknowledge that there is a Holy God who created you and loves you very much. God, in turn, desires our love, worship and adoration.

God planned for us to have peace and an abundant life. He also gave us a will and freedom of choice. We, unfortunately, have chosen to disobey God, sin against Him and go our own way. This deliberate choice of sinning separates us from God.

The Bible says "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23) and "the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23). Every one of us has failed to meet God's standard. This means that the fair payment of our rebellion against God is death.

What do I do? How can I fix this?

You must also acknowledge that man cannot bridge the gap. There is no work that man can perform to earn his salvation.

"Where is the good news?", you ask? Here it is...

God has reached out to man. God has become the bridge for us. John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." For God did not send His Son to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved". Jesus, the "anointed one", the one and only Son of God, came to earth and lived a perfect life. He became the sacrifice for our sins and bore our punishment on the cross.

But there is more! Jesus rose from the grave and ascended into Heaven and He will return for those who trust in Him as their Savior.

What do I owe?

There is no way we can ever repay this debt. But, we don't have to. Salvation is a free gift. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). God's gift to you is free. All you have to do is receive it. "Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12). Jesus is the gift. Jesus is the only way. You must choose for yourself whether or not you will follow that way.

How do I receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior?

1. You must admit that you need Him. You must acknowledge that you are a sinner and be willing to repent. No one can do this for you. It is an individual choice. To repent means to turn away from. You must genuinely desire to turn away from sin and ask God to forgive you.

2. You must also believe that Jesus died for you on the cross and that God raised him from the dead. The Bible says "if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)

3. You must also, through prayer, personally invite Jesus Christ to come in and take control of your life.

What do I pray?

If you would like to receive Jesus into your heart right now, pray something like this:

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I believe that you died for my sins. I want to turn away from my sins. I invite you to come into my heart and life and be my Lord and Savior. I want to follow you and by your help live a life that is right and pleasing to you. Thank you for saving me. Amen."

If you prayed this prayer, sincerely and from the heart, you are SAVED and Jesus has come into your life and forgiven all of your sins. You are a new creation! The Bible says, "He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God." (1 John 5:12-13)

Now what?

It is important that you start to grow in your relationship with Jesus. This is just the beginning of a wonderful new life!

The way to get to know God is through the Bible. We recommend starting in the book of John. It is also important that you find a church you can attend where they teach the Bible. You also need to pray daily and get to know other Christians and tell people of the decision you have made.
